GTX-A and C Line Extensions Become Visible... Spotlight on 'Pyeongtaek Brain City' Expected to Benefit

The government is expected to unveil the final plan for the ‘Metropolitan Area Express Train (GTX) extension and new line projects’ within this month. The plan will include extensions of GTX lines A, B, and C, as well as the establishment of new lines D, E, and F.

According to industry sources, the currently reviewed GTX extension proposals include adding the Dongtan?Pyeongtaek section to Line A, extending Line B from Maseok to Chuncheon, and extending Line C from Suwon through Pyeongtaek to Cheonan.

The most notable area in the GTX extension and new line plan is Pyeongtaek, where Lines A and C will be extended. This is expected not only to significantly improve access to Seoul but also to revitalize the local economy by linking with the southern metropolitan industrial cluster.

Pyeongtaek, which will be served by both the extended GTX A and C lines, is poised to become a major hub in the metropolitan transportation network, alongside the existing Line 1 and SRT stops and the Suwon-originating KTX scheduled for next year.

As Pyeongtaek emerges as the biggest beneficiary of the GTX extension lines, the nearby real estate market is heating up. In particular, demand is rising sharply for ‘Pyeongtaek Brain City,’ which also benefits from large-scale public land development.

Pyeongtaek Brain City is Gyeonggi Province’s largest industrial complex, covering approximately 4.82 million square meters. About 840,000 square meters of this area is designated for residential use, making it a large-scale public land development in the metropolitan area with superior competitiveness compared to smaller-scale private land developments such as urban development projects.

Notably, KAIST Pyeongtaek Campus is scheduled to be established in Pyeongtaek Brain City by 2025, and Ajou University Pyeongtaek Hospital, equipped with advanced facilities for robotics and AI, is planned for 2030, enhancing its future value.

‘Pyeongtaek Brain City Joongheung S-Class,’ currently on sale in the prime location of Pyeongtaek Brain City, which is gaining attention due to the GTX extension and large-scale public land development, is attracting interest.

Supplied by Joongheung Construction Group’s Joongheung Tojeon, ‘Pyeongtaek Brain City Joongheung S-Class’ consists of a total of 1,980 units with exclusive areas of 59 and 84 square meters. The complex plans to include sites for kindergartens as well as elementary, middle, and high schools nearby, and a surrounding academy district is also planned, providing a safe educational environment for children.

Additionally, a central commercial district (planned) with banks, hospitals, and pharmacies will be adjacent, and retail and cultural facilities such as Homeplus, E-Mart, CGV, and Lotte Cinema are nearby. A children’s park is also planned, ensuring a pleasant residential environment.

A sales representative for ‘Pyeongtaek Brain City Joongheung S-Class’ stated, “With the unique locational value within Pyeongtaek Brain City, developed as a large-scale public land project, combined with the positive impact of the GTX extension, inquiries have been steadily increasing. We expect the official contracts starting on the 16th to proceed smoothly due to this high demand.”

The model house for ‘Pyeongtaek Brain City Joongheung S-Class’ is located in Jukbaek-dong, Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi-do, with move-in scheduled for February 2027.
