Dobong-gu (District Mayor Oh Eon-seok) provides a 'Healthy Pregnancy Support' service for men and women planning to conceive.
The target group is men and women of reproductive age registered as residents in Seoul. The main services include health checkups, nutritional supplement support, health consultations, and connections to specialized institutions, provided once annually.
Health checkups are conducted through basic and additional screenings at public health centers. The basic checkup includes CBC (complete blood count), liver function, kidney function tests, hepatitis B test, Chest-PA (chest X-ray), STD (sexually transmitted disease) tests, and urinalysis.
Additional screenings are conducted separately for women and men. Women receive AMH (ovarian function test), TSH (thyroid function test), and rubella immunity tests, while men are issued a separate semen analysis referral form to undergo testing at a urology clinic.
Test results are registered and managed in the Regional Health Care Information System. Individuals with abnormal findings are classified as high-risk and connected to private medical institutions and specialized counseling centers.
The service is available year-round. Applications for this year's service can be submitted until the end of December via the Seoul Pregnancy and Childbirth Information Center website or by visiting the Dobong-gu Public Health Center.
Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, stated, "We expect this pregnancy support service to help prospective parents achieve healthy pregnancies and happy childbirths."
