Foreign Language Singing, Performance, Photography, Calligraphy, and Game Making
1-Year Achievement Presentation 'Do-ing Festival' Heats Up
Learning foreign languages through songs, one instrument per person, the aesthetics of calligraphy... These are not cultural center courses but university curriculum programs.
Dongmyung University (President Jeon Ho-hwan) recently unveiled the curriculum of the innovatively invented 'Do-ing University'. It was the 'Do-ing Do It Festival'. The 'Do-ing Education' courses in the fields of culture, arts, and sports, aimed at challenge, experience, and practice, showcased the achievements of the past year.
The Do-ing course poster exhibition and unique course performances of Do-ing University such as ▲The Aesthetics of Calligraphy ▲Pioneering Subject ▲Photography Arts ▲SW and Content Production ▲Learning Foreign Languages through Songs ▲One Instrument per Person were revealed and celebrated like a festival.
Along with the exhibition of works by students of 'The Aesthetics of Calligraphy' (instructed by Professor Park Tae-man), attention was drawn to the 'Dongmyung Taekwondo Documentary' produced in 'Pioneering Subject' (instructed by Professor Won Hyung-jin) and the web drama 'Campus Couple' from 'Photography Arts' (instructed by Professor Kim Hyun-min).
Students also demonstrated games they created in 'SW and Content Production' (instructed by Professor Lee Woo-young). Second-year student Kim Jeong-rim, who took 'Learning Foreign Languages through Songs' (instructed by Professor Gam Young-hee), received great applause for passionately singing the Japanese song 'Tsugunai (Atonement)'. The violin ensemble of students and the professor from 'One Instrument per Person' (instructed by Professor Choi Jeong-mi) heated up the stage with a 'Christmas Carol Medley'.
President Jeon Ho-hwan emphasized, “Do-ing Education will cultivate the competencies needed to live in the future society,” adding, “We will ensure that the Do-ing curriculum, reflecting the values of body (體), virtue (德), and wisdom (智), bears even greater fruit.”
