Goryeong-gun Achieves First Place in Gyeongbuk for Regional GDP Growth Rate

In the '2021 Gyeongsangbuk-do Regional Gross Domestic Product (GRDP) Estimation Report' announced by Gyeongbuk Province, Goryeong-gun achieved the highest real growth rate in GRDP within the province, with a 37.1% increase.

On December 28th, Gyeongbuk Province announced the GRDP by city and county, including per capita production, production scale, and total added value by economic activity. The GRDP estimation results are based on the added value of 16 industries such as agriculture, forestry, and fisheries. Goryeong-gun recorded a per capita GRDP of 57.49 million KRW and a real growth rate of 37.1%, ranking first in the province. Considering that the growth rate before the base year was -14.2%, this represents an outstanding growth rate incomparable to other cities and counties.

County Governor Nam-cheol Lee said, “It is very proud that the results of all Goryeong residents uniting and overcoming difficult situations such as COVID-19 and working hard have appeared in statistics approved by the government.” He added, “We will continue to do our best to further increase the production scale within the region and to create a 'Young Goryeong, Strong Goryeong.'”
