Heungkuk Life Insurance Donates 900 Million KRW to 3,000 Children Over 10 Years

Heungkuk Life Insurance Donates 900 Million KRW to 3,000 Children Over 10 Years A scene of Heungkuk Life volunteering through 'Finding Myself,' a social contribution activity supporting children in group homes.

Heungkuk Life Insurance, a financial affiliate of Taekwang Group, announced on the 11th that it has donated approximately 900 million KRW to about 3,000 children at over 800 group homes through social contribution activities supporting group homes over the past 10 years.

Heungkuk Life Insurance began supporting group homes in 2013 and has continued various forms of assistance to improve the living environment and promote independence for children over the past decade, along with financial support.

Group homes are small-scale communal living facilities for children and adolescents who need protection due to the breakdown of their original families. Heungkuk Life Insurance has provided various program supports until the group home children become adults and achieve independence.

Heungkuk Life Insurance’s representative group home support program, "Finding Myself," started as an independence education activity in 2015 and has expanded to include career counseling, psychological therapy, financial education, and other programs, serving as a guide for the stable independence of group home children and adolescents.

Recently, through digital financial crime prevention education, sexual crime prevention education, and drug prevention education, the company has been helping protect children from crime victims and encouraging awareness of social issues.

When group home children become adults, they must leave the communal home and live independently. Many children face difficulties during the preparation process for independence. Heungkuk Life Insurance provides various educational programs to alleviate children’s anxiety about independence and instills confidence for successful social integration through psychological therapy and other support.

A representative from Heungkuk Life Insurance’s social contribution department said, “Seeing children who participated in various programs receive practical help in preparing for independence makes us more aware of our corporate social responsibility,” and added, “We plan to continue various sharing activities needed by group home children in the future.”
