Gyeongbuk Province and the Gyeongbuk Exporters Association have provided comprehensive export information for small and medium-sized enterprises in cooperation with related organizations targeting about 3,000 export companies, and plan to expand the number of member companies to 1,200 in the future to foster it as the largest export company association in the province in name and reality.

Based on this, they plan to newly design a comprehensive export consulting support system according to the growth stage of companies to promote the export transformation of domestic companies and strengthen the capabilities of beginner export companies. In addition, they will also promote new market development and customized buyer discovery projects for member companies.

Along with this, in cooperation with export support organizations in the province, they will conduct regional and product-specific itinerant consulting and actively promote individual company consulting utilizing domestic and international trade experts and executives of excellent export companies.

In cooperation with export support related organizations located in the region such as the Korea International Trade Association, Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), Economic Promotion Agency, and Small and Medium Business Corporation, they plan to further develop digital export capabilities while holding joint briefings on export support policies and promoting various cooperative projects such as identifying and sharing difficulties faced by export companies.

This year, monthly meetings, quarterly and semi-annual meetings and exchange meetings will be held regularly to continuously monitor major export marketing projects, and seminars and briefings to strengthen the capabilities of export companies will also be continuously prepared.

Last year, the governor’s commendations were presented to Anuri CEO Kim Min-seon, Korea Agrinet CEO Do Min-gyu, One K CEO Kim Tae-won, Sangwon Textile CEO Ryu Gija, and Songjuk Glove CEO Jeong Seon-hee, who contributed to the development of the association through overseas market expansion and mutual cooperation among member companies.

Lee Dal-hee, Deputy Governor for Economy of Gyeongbuk Province, said, “We have made various efforts for the promotion of exports and new changes for small and medium-sized enterprises, and to achieve $50 billion in exports this year, we will secure additional export marketing budgets in 2024 and do our best to make Gyeongbuk a business-friendly province. Also, inspired by the energy of the Blue Dragon, we will make this year a year of corporate growth, export increase, and job creation.”
