GW Biotech announced on the 11th that it has signed an MOU with Maekyung Health, a specialized health and medical media outlet, to collaborate extensively in the pet healthcare business sector.
Through this business agreement, both companies have agreed to cooperate on ▲providing pet products and services through online and offline store placements ▲producing online content specialized in pet healthcare ▲promoting campaigns and activities related to pet disease prevention ▲developing customized care products for diseases through pet data exchange.
Prior to this, GW Biotech began its partnership with the Korean Veterinary Medical Association last year to establish measures against zoonotic infectious diseases and has created a total healthcare specialized brand, C.A.LAB, which includes a pet examination center, scheduled to open in February.
Maekyung Health is the first domestic media outlet to engage in pet-related business. It plans to launch various campaigns and events for pets, such as the animal rescue campaign "Saving Pet" and the pet festival "Jeonjijeok Daengdaeng Sijeom." Additionally, it will collaborate with renowned domestic designers and massage experts to release pet healthcare products.
Going forward, GW Biotech will actively participate in various campaigns and events conducted by Maekyung Health, while Maekyung Health will closely cooperate by supplying products for B2B and B2C market entry through the Korean Veterinary Medical Association’s official mall "Suwisa Jangteo" operated by GW Biotech.
Jung Hyun-seop, director in charge of the pet business at GW Biotech, stated, “With the pet population reaching 15 million, both companies see great potential in the domestic pet market. We will do our best to cooperate mutually to create a win-win synergy, not only to discover future growth engines but also to expand sales.”
Meanwhile, Maekyung Health is a multimedia news channel under Maekyung Media Group that plans, covers, and produces health, medical, and public health news, and has recently been focusing on advancing its pet healthcare business.
