Jinhaksa Surveyed 2,002 Job Seekers
Job seekers in their 20s dream of having a mentor like the broadcaster 'Yoo Jae-seok' after joining their first company, and they hope for a starting salary in the 30 million KRW range. This is the result of a survey conducted by Jinhaksa in collaboration with the recruitment content platform 'Catch,' targeting 2,002 job seekers.
On the 11th, Jinhaksa announced that when they surveyed 2,002 job seekers about their 'goals to achieve in 2024,' these results emerged. Job seekers chose 'employment' (49%) as their top priority this year, followed by 'self-development' (18%) and 'diet/exercise' (11%).
The companies set as goals were overwhelmingly large corporations (61%). Next were 'mid-sized companies' (14%), 'public enterprises/public institutions' (8%), 'foreign companies' (5%), 'startups' (4.8%), and 'small and medium-sized enterprises' (4.6%).
The desired starting salary among job seekers was mostly in the 30 million KRW range (27%). This was followed by the 40 million KRW range (23%) and the 50 million KRW range (21%). Additionally, some hoped for the 70 million KRW range (20%) and the 60 million KRW range (9%).
The most attractive workplace condition for job seekers in their 20s was 'high salary' (39%). 'Work-life balance guarantee' (21%) ranked second, followed by 'good atmosphere' (14%) and 'good colleagues/mentors' (12%), which were also important considerations.
In particular, regarding mentors, job seekers in their 20s viewed someone like 'Yoo Jae-seok' as the ideal. Jinhaksa explained that the characteristic of a 'mentor like Yoo Jae-seok' is "a person known for consideration." Soccer player 'Son Heung-min,' a paragon of leading by example, ranked second with 15%, and professional gamer Faker (Lee Sang-hyeok), a legend of the LoL World Championship and Asian Games gold medalist with a clear sense of conviction, ranked third with 12%. Other opinions included Lee Hyori (10%), IU (6%), Jang Do-yeon (5%), and Cha Eun-woo (3%).
Kim Jeong-hyun, head of the Catch division at Jinhaksa, analyzed, "Job seekers seem to prefer large corporations or companies with high salaries," but added, "This reflects the characteristics of a generation that values personal growth over companies and immediate benefits over long-term employment."
