[CES 2024] Samsung SDS Unveils Generative AI Service... "Will Lead Corporate Innovation" Hwang Sung-woo, President of Samsung SDS, is introducing the company's generative artificial intelligence (AI) service on the 10th (local time) at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) in the United States. /

The company set up an exclusive exhibition room at this CES to showcase various technology cases including ▲FabriX (generative AI service platform) ▲Brity Copilot (generative AI collaboration solution) ▲SRM SaaS (purchase supply chain management solution), and discussed business with over 100 global clients. In particular, Hwang Sung-woo, CEO (President) of Samsung SDS, met with global customers and partners here to discuss strategic cooperation plans and explore ways to expand global business.

CEO Hwang said, "While meeting customers here, many responded that it was the first time they saw (Samsung SDS solutions) actually working in Korean," adding, "We are demonstrating it here in real-time connected with Korea."

FabriX: A Platform Connecting Enterprise Data with Generative AI

FabriX, introduced by Samsung SDS, is a cloud-based generative AI service platform that links various enterprise data, knowledge assets, and business systems with generative AI, enabling employees to easily share and use them. At this CES, the company demonstrated how FabriX securely connects internal company data with large language models to generate highly accurate answers and applies them to company operations.

FabriX can generate highly accurate answers by directly utilizing not only external data but also internal enterprise data. Additionally, it is serviced based on the Samsung Cloud Platform to enable the use of generative AI without security concerns, and prevents internal information leakage through keyword filtering, data, and user permission management. Samsung SDS is currently applying and using FabriX internally.

Brity Copilot is a service applying generative AI technology to collaboration solutions frequently used in company work such as email, messenger, and video conferencing, and is scheduled to be launched next month. Samsung SDS showcased the advancement of collaboration solutions through Brity Copilot at this CES.

By utilizing Brity Copilot, various tasks can be automated including ▲real-time subtitles and meeting minutes creation during video conferences ▲deriving meeting minutes and action items after meetings and sending emails to responsible persons ▲real-time summarization of received emails and messenger messages ▲drafting email compositions.

As a result of Samsung SDS applying Brity Copilot internally, the time spent summarizing meeting content and writing minutes was reduced by more than 75%. The time required to check and write emails also decreased by 66%. Messenger conversation summarization resulted in about a 50% time saving. The company explained that this can reduce individual work hours by 4.9 hours per month.

AI-Based Purchase Supply Chain Management ‘SRM SaaS’ Solution

At CES 2024, Samsung SDS introduced the AI-based purchase supply chain management solution SRM SaaS, jointly developed with Emro, the No. 1 purchase supply chain management (SRM) solution company in Korea. They also demonstrated the AI-powered Auto-PO (purchase automation) feature that recommends target items and purchase types within the SRM SaaS solution.

Auto-PO helps reduce purchase costs and improve work productivity by conducting company-wide unit price contracts for items frequently purchased by departments that are judged to be effective when contracted in bulk.

Samsung SDS solved fundamental difficulties of existing Auto-PO by using AI and machine learning technologies to identify suitable items for Auto-PO and continuously assessing price appropriateness for ongoing purchase contracts, providing ongoing opportunities for cost reduction. Internal tests showed about a 20% reduction in purchase costs and improved work productivity using Auto-PO.

CEO Hwang said, "Through Samsung SDS’s generative AI services showcased at CES 2024, we will help enterprise customers achieve hyperautomation innovation."

He also explained, "All generative AI services are cloud-based, and since the ones we developed are all made to be serviced on the cloud, the generative AI boom will change the cloud industry and technology significantly," adding, "We believe we can find opportunities as well."
