Use of North Korean Missiles in Attacks on Ukraine
Ukraine announced on the 8th (local time) that numerous casualties have occurred across various regions due to Russian airstrikes.
Oleksii Kuleba, Deputy Head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office, announced that an explosion occurred in Khmelnytskyi, located southwest of the capital Kyiv, resulting in one death.
In Kryvyi Rih, a city near the central front line in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, a large-scale missile strike destroyed shopping centers and high-rise buildings, causing one fatality. In Novomoskovsk, adjacent to the north of the capital Dnipro city, more than 20 people were injured. Civilian infrastructure was damaged in the southeastern Kharkiv region.
Deputy Head Kuleba also stated that rocket attacks continued in civilian residential areas of Zaporizhzhia.
According to foreign media, one person also died in the southeastern Kharkiv region on the same day.
Earlier, on the 6th, Russia conducted airstrikes in the village of Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast, killing 11 people including five children.
Since Russia launched the largest-scale bombing on Ukraine on the 29th of last month, both countries have continued exchanging airstrikes into the new year.
In particular, it has been reported that Russia is using missiles supplied from North Korea in its attacks on Ukraine. The United States and Ukraine confirmed that Russia launched missiles provided by North Korea into Ukrainian territory on December 30 last year and January 2 this year.
