IM's subsidiary, IM Advanced Materials, announced on the 8th that it will actively expand the supply of 5G transparent antennas for the global company M starting this month. IM Advanced Materials began supplying from the third quarter of last year.
IM's 5G transparent antenna is a modular product formed by creating an electrode pattern on a transparent substrate material. Unlike conventional bulky metal antennas, it is a film-type antenna with transparent, flexible, and lightweight characteristics.
Accordingly, it can be installed on building exterior windows or automobile glass without spoiling the aesthetics and is advantageous for mass installation. It is also a high value-added product with advantages such as ▲improved 5G network quality ▲high power capacity ▲high signal rate ▲lightweight.
Its application fields include communication antennas, Bluetooth antennas, radios, NFC, automobiles, special vehicles, aircraft, trains, building windows, solar panels, and can be applied in various shapes and sizes.
A company official stated, “According to the related industry, the 5G transparent film antenna market is expected to grow at an average annual rate of 18.51%, reaching $1,951.93 million (approximately 2.5385 trillion KRW) by 2030,” and added, “As electronic companies recently have begun targeting the software-defined vehicle (SDV) market, known as the 'smartphone on wheels,' related demand is expected to surge further.”
