A total of 24 dedicated employees from 23 overseas trade offices in 16 countries will visit 140 branch office companies to devise marketing strategies tailored to local market characteristics based on the local market environment and trends together with the branch office companies. They will also provide consultations to resolve export-related questions and difficulties such as logistics, customs clearance, payment, and certification.

Through this visit, KOTRA stated that it will establish marketing strategies reflecting the market characteristics of regions where small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies are entering, support export expansion, and strengthen support for resolving export difficulties.

Before the site visits, on the 8th, KOTRA will conduct job competency training for the dedicated employees at its headquarters in Yangjae-dong. Along with training to enhance work performance, group discussions will be held to find service improvement plans to increase satisfaction among branch office companies.

The branch office project marks its 25th year this year. This project is KOTRA’s representative export marketing support service, where KOTRA’s overseas trade offices act as local branches on behalf of SMEs and mid-sized companies that lack the capacity to establish branches overseas, supporting their exports and overseas expansion.

Last year, KOTRA supported a total of 3,964 companies through 123 overseas trade offices in 81 countries, generating export results worth 4.87 billion USD. This year, it plans to support a total of 3,545 companies through 125 overseas trade offices in 82 countries. In particular, it will diversify customized services according to the export capabilities and industrial characteristics of branch office companies and expand export results by utilizing digital marketing, big data, and more.

Jeon Chun-woo, Head of KOTRA’s SME and Mid-sized Enterprise Division, said, "Since this branch office company site visit is a meaningful opportunity resuming after four years due to COVID-19, I hope a close communication channel will be established between the dedicated employees and the branch office companies." He added, "We will continue to expand site visits to branch office companies to jointly resolve export difficulties and lead to export expansion."
