Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, is receiving treatment after an attack, and the Democratic Party has decided to establish the 'Party Leader Political Terrorism Countermeasures Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Countermeasures Committee)' to respond to fake news related to this incident.


Kang Seon-woo, the party spokesperson, announced this decision to reporters after a closed Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly on the morning of the 5th.

Regarding the composition of the Political Terrorism Countermeasures Committee, former Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission Chairperson Jeon Hyun-hee was appointed as the chair, and Representative Park Sang-hyuk was appointed as the secretary. The committee is composed of 10 members, including Representatives Hwang Un-ha, Lee Hae-sik, Kim Seung-won, former Senior Superintendent Ryu Sam-young?who is the party’s third recruited talent?Choi Min-hee, chairperson of the party’s Public Communication Committee, spokesperson Han Min-soo, and Kwon Hyuk-gi, head of the party’s Political Planning Office.


Spokesperson Kang explained, "In relation to the political terrorism against Leader Lee Jae-myung, we decided to establish an emergency special committee to urge thorough and swift investigations and to strongly respond to abusive language and fake news spread by comprehensive programming panelists and far-right YouTubers. This is to prepare measures to prevent recurrence and to enable prompt responses."
