As the "100-year life era" approaches, regular health management for "healthy aging" is emerging as an important task. Naturally, the need for wearable and accurate biometric signal measuring devices that can measure and monitor vital signs such as sleep, stress, and activity levels is also increasing.
Imedi Healthcare will officially launch the ring-shaped biometric signal measuring device "VitalRing" this year. When worn on the finger, it integrates advanced bio-sensors and artificial intelligence (AI) technology to measure sleep and stress analysis, body temperature, heart rate, respiration rate, blood oxygen saturation, and activity levels 24 hours a day. Weighing 3.3 to 3.9 grams, it is lighter than existing watch or band-type products while offering excellent wearing continuity and adhesion. It also supports waterproof functionality up to 100 meters.
Additionally, it provides a team care function that allows family members, counselors, or experts to remotely monitor various indicators and assist with health management, making it expected to be effectively used not only by families but also in health checkup care services, nursing homes and care for elderly living alone, sleep disorder care, and chronic disease prognosis care services.
The company stated, "VitalRing will resolve the inconvenience and cost burden of traditional hospital visits and the need to use multiple devices for examinations, and improve the quality of medical services for patients and the general public through expert remote health management services." They added, "Expansion into overseas markets where telemedicine is possible is also underway." They plan to enter overseas and online markets through paid subscription services and pioneer offline markets through cooperation with medical institutions and nursing homes. Furthermore, it is explained that expansion into a health analysis AI platform business utilizing big data accumulated through VitalRing is also possible.
Imedi Healthcare is currently developing non-invasive measurement and diagnostic technologies for blood glucose, blood pressure, and dehydration. Developed jointly with Severance Hospital, they plan to release a new product applying these technologies to VitalRing in the second half of this year.
