Eunpyeong-gu Shines with 2023 Achievements... Secures a Total of 34 Billion KRW through Evaluations and Competitions

Seoul Eunpyeong-gu (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that it secured a total of 34 billion KRW in external funding last year through evaluations by 139 external organizations and public contest projects.


Eunpyeong-gu achieved excellent results in 49 external organization evaluations across various fields such as administration, safety, employment, health, and welfare, and successfully attracted 90 projects by applying to diverse external public contests. The total budget secured amounted to 34 billion KRW, which is 2.7 times higher compared to 12.4 billion KRW in 2022.


The district received high evaluations in the 'administration and safety sectors,' including ▲being selected as an excellent institution in local government innovation evaluation for five consecutive years ▲being selected as an excellent institution in the comprehensive evaluation of proactive administration of local governments ▲being selected as the best district in the Seoul Metropolitan Government joint evaluation for three consecutive years ▲receiving the Ministerial Award at the Korea Knowledge Awards ▲being selected as an excellent institution in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety disaster management evaluation ▲being selected as an excellent institution in the National Happiness Civil Service Office. Through receiving the highest grade in the Manifesto 8th term pledge implementation plan evaluation, it was also recognized for achievements in 'pledge fulfillment.'


Additionally, the district proved its competitiveness in the 'employment and environment sectors' through awards such as ▲the best award in the social service job creation field of the regional welfare project evaluation ▲the Ministerial Award in the local government social economy policy evaluation ▲the Ministerial Commendation for contributions to employment for persons with disabilities ▲the excellence award in the local government welfare project evaluation for persons with disabilities ▲the Ministerial Award at the Korea Urban Awards. It also secured 400 million KRW in project funds by being recognized in central government, Seoul Metropolitan Government, and other external evaluations, including ▲the mayoral commendation for contributions to maternal and child health projects ▲the excellence award in the comprehensive evaluation of food hygiene in autonomous districts ▲the Director-General’s Commendation from the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency for the community health survey.


Moreover, the district attracted a total of 33.6 billion KRW in external funding, including ▲2.2 billion KRW for single-person household support, health management projects, and social safety net reinforcement ▲3.4 billion KRW for youth job creation, small business support, and traditional market modernization ▲8.5 billion KRW for eco-friendly green spaces, urban environment, and transportation improvements ▲19.5 billion KRW for education, culture, and childcare environment development.


The secured budget was used for the convenience of residents and regional development.


Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, stated, “The staff’s efforts over the past year for district development and resident convenience have resulted in excellent achievements. In 2024, we will devote all our efforts to external organization evaluations and public contest projects to promote projects necessary for residents’ lives.”
