A total of 1,059 households will be supplied in the areas east of Ssangmun Station and around Banghak Station, the leading districts for the urban public housing complex project. Construction is scheduled to begin in the first half of 2026, with completion targeted for 2029.

Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) announced that the area around Banghak Station and the east side of Ssangmun Station, selected as candidate sites in March 2021, has had its complex project plan approved by Seoul City for the first time in 2 years and 9 months.

This progress is 3 to 4 years faster than private redevelopment projects.

Earlier, in July of last year, Seoul City carried out approval procedures including integrated review following the approval application by the public housing developer (LH).

Mayor Oh Eon-seok expressed expectations, saying, “With this complex project plan approval as a turning point, the area around Banghak Station and the east side of Ssangmun Station will transform into a transit-oriented residential complex with a pleasant living environment, injecting new vitality into the region.”

As part of this redevelopment project, the complex project district near Line 1 Banghak Station will have a floor area ratio of 599.89%, with apartment buildings ranging from 5 basement levels to 39 floors above ground, comprising 420 households (263 public sale, 84 profit-sharing, 73 public rental), along with neighborhood living facilities and ancillary welfare facilities.

The complex project district east of Line 4 Ssangmun Station will have a floor area ratio of 498.58%, with apartment buildings ranging from 4 basement levels to 38 floors above ground, comprising 639 households (402 public sale, 128 profit-sharing, 109 public rental).

In particular, the area of the children’s park has been expanded by 492.1㎡ from the original plan, expected to contribute to residents’ emotional well-being and local environmental improvement.

Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, stated, “We will actively communicate and support residents to ensure that various housing maintenance projects such as urban complex projects, reconstruction and redevelopment, and Moa Town within Dobong-gu can proceed swiftly.”
