Samjong KPMG announced on the 3rd a video containing trends and viewing points for CES 2024 business travelers, becoming the first in the industry to do so ahead of the world's largest home appliance and IT (Information Technology) exhibition, 'CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2024,' where future technologies can be seen at a glance.
Since 1967, CES has been the world's largest ICT convergence exhibition that reviews advanced technology trends and developments annually. This year, it will be held from January 9 to 12 under the theme 'All Together. All On.' More than 3,500 companies from over 150 countries will participate in CES 2024, with a record high of over 600 Korean companies, including Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, SK, and Hyundai Motor Group.
Samjong KPMG identified 'AI (Artificial Intelligence)' and 'Mobility' as the most notable keywords at CES 2024. Numerous products integrating AI and robotics technologies into various industries are expected to be unveiled, contributing to human safety and reducing labor burdens.
In the mobility sector, with the commercialization of AI-based autonomous vehicles approaching, AI-based infotainment services, autonomous driving information analysis technologies, and AI detection solutions are expected to attract attention. In particular, CES 2024 is known to showcase SDV (Software Defined Vehicle) technology, where cars, like smartphones, are updated and evolve centered on software, drawing significant interest.
Samjong KPMG also emphasized examining the horizon of the smart home industry, which is expanding based on new technologies along with various smart home devices applying AI technology.
In the digital healthcare field, many wearable products capable of real-time personalized care based on AI technology are expected to be unveiled.
It is anticipated that keywords such as expansion from medical services targeting patients to personalized services centered on general consumers for health management purposes, prevention-focused services, and home care will be emphasized.
Additionally, various wearable devices, smart glasses, and digital human creation technologies usable in future XR (Extended Reality) environments through Metaverse and Web 3.0 are expected to be introduced.
Especially, products equipped with more advanced functions, such as those enabling tactile experiences within XR based on neuroscience technology, are highly anticipated.
The CES exhibition hall is as large as more than 26 soccer fields combined, and Samjong KPMG included viewing points for each exhibition zone in the video for business travelers attending CES.
The Tech East zone houses the iconic 'Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC)' of CES. Among them, the Central Hall will feature booths from companies like Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, and SK, along with innovative technologies related to gaming and the Metaverse.
It is also recommended to experience the fast and convenient future transportation firsthand by using the LVCC Loop, a free underground transportation connecting the Central Hall and the West Hall, which mainly exhibits mobility companies.
The Tech West zone includes exhibitions in smart home and food tech fields, as well as Eureka Park, where various innovative products from startups worldwide gather. The Venetian Expo in Tech West will host an exhibition of CES 2024 Best Innovation Award winners.
Tech South will hold various conferences and networking events. Various events of C Space, a gathering of experts in advertising, media, entertainment, and brand marketing, are scheduled.
Finally, to check the future prospects of industries of interest, it was suggested that listening to keynote speeches and examining the booths where products are exhibited together is essential to organically understand companies' visions and products.
This year, C-Level executives from various fields, including Intel, Siemens, HD Hyundai, Walmart, L'Or?al, and Snap, will participate as keynote speakers to reveal the future direction of industries, corporate strategies, and detailed products and technologies.
Seunghoon Yeom, Leader (Vice President) of Samjong KPMG's Electronics, Information & Communication, and Entertainment Industry, said, “The video prepared ahead of CES 2024 contains detailed business trip tips, including key trends and products to watch, characteristics of each exhibition zone, and how to move around,” adding, “We hope that by previewing CES 2024, business travelers will have a more beneficial time at CES.”
The video can be viewed on Samjong KPMG's official YouTube account, and the CES pre-report 'CES 2024 Preview: A Look Ahead at CES Trends' is available for free on the Samjong KPMG website.
