Kim Young-tae, Director of Seoul National University Hospital, announced his commitment to fulfilling the role of a national central hospital leading essential medical care.

On the 2nd, Director Kim stated in his New Year's address, "Seoul National University Hospital will fulfill its responsibilities as a national central hospital in the public sector, striving to become a focal point for normalizing essential medical care and resolving regional disparities in medical services."


First, in the medical treatment sector, he said, "Starting this year, we plan to actively remodel the pediatric hospital wards. Through this, we aim to create an effective treatment environment for severe and rare pediatric patients, ensure thorough infection control within hospital rooms, and establish a more comfortable ward environment to serve as a model for future pediatric hospitals."


In the education sector, he emphasized, "Strengthening the management system for our excellent human resources, which are Seoul National University Hospital’s strength and core asset, will be a major task. To this end, we will implement customized education programs that allow joint participation by job type and rank, based on the diverse demands within the hospital. We will also continue to work on improving the training environment for residents."


Regarding research, he said, "To leap forward as a world-class research-oriented hospital, we will strengthen cooperation with leading global educational and research institutions such as Harvard and MIT to lead future medical core fields like advanced bio and artificial intelligence. Through this, we will establish a foundation to nurture young and capable physician-scientists."


He also revealed plans related to the introduction of ESG management. Director Kim stated, "We will adopt diversity, equity, and inclusion as management principles and practice them to establish a medical culture where all employees respect, communicate, and cooperate with each other to provide the best medical services to patients," adding, "Through this, we will strive to create a happy hospital where we can all elevate our values and achieve our dreams."
