Hanyang Recruits External Experts in Energy and Construction Sectors Iwangjae, Head of Energy Division at Hanyang

On the 2nd, Hanyang announced the appointment of Lee Wang-jae, CEO of SK Ecoplant Eco Energy BU (Business Unit), as the head of the energy sector, and Lee Jong-tae, head of the sales division at DL E&C's order-winning sales office, as the head of the construction sector sales headquarters.

Hanyang operates its business through two main pillars: the construction sector, responsible for housing, urban development, and public projects, and the energy sector, which handles eco-energy businesses such as renewable energy including solar and wind power, as well as LNG and hydrogen. Leveraging these new appointments, the company plans to expand its profitable construction portfolio while accelerating its eco-friendly energy business.

Lee Wang-jae, the head of the energy sector, is an expert in the energy field with many years of experience in energy businesses such as hydrogen and fuel cells, and possesses a broad network. Lee graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in Agricultural Economics and joined Seonkyung (now SK Group) in 1992. In 2004, he moved to SK Construction (now SK Ecoplant), where he served as an executive in charge of renewable energy programs, vice president of the fuel cell business group, head of the hydrogen business promotion team, and CEO of the Eco Energy BU.

Hanyang has focused on operating solar power plants and constructing LNG infrastructure, and plans to actively advance new energy businesses such as the "Myodo Northeast Asia LNG Hub Terminal" project, which is being promoted in earnest with GS Energy in the first quarter of this year, and offshore wind power projects jointly developed with CIP.

He has held positions such as executive director of the housing sales division, executive director of the housing execution division, and managing director of the order-winning sales office. In 2020, he served as the head of the housing business division at Hoban Construction. Based on his diverse business experience in housing and architecture, Lee is expected to contribute to public and private order-winning sales.

A Hanyang official stated, "We will pursue solid growth by recruiting experts in each field," adding, "This year will be a year of leap forward as a global energy company through the promotion of energy businesses based on a stable order-winning foundation."
