[New Year's Message] Yoo Young-sang, SKT President, "We Will Achieve Results as a Global AI Company"

Urging Execution of AI Pyramid Strategy
Supported by Corporate Structural Improvement

Yu Young-sang, President of SK Telecom (photo), pledged to make this year a year of achievements as a 'global artificial intelligence (AI) company.'

In his New Year's address on the 2nd, President Yu stated, "Last year, we laid the foundation to leap forward as a global AI company by accumulating AI capabilities and building a global AI ecosystem."

In 2024, he emphasized three strategies to realize the fruits of the changes and innovations pursued so far.

First, he urged the full-scale implementation of the 'AI Pyramid Strategy.' The AI Pyramid Strategy refers to a pyramid-shaped, step-by-step model that combines 'self-strengthening,' which advances AI technology and creates AI services to build close relationships with customers, and a 'collaboration' model centered on AI alliances.

Each organization is to select core tasks and priorities under the AI Pyramid Strategy, establish goals to enhance execution power, and ensure that each area of the AI Pyramid is organically connected to increase synergy.

Second is the 'Visualization of AI Company Performance.' He said, "The market expects tangible results from us, such as customer indicators, sales, and operating profit," and suggested, "Let us rapidly grow new businesses like AI data centers and combine AI with existing businesses and services to create greater outcomes."

Finally, he emphasized that "being a global AI company is a new path no one has taken before" and that it must be supported through corporate structural improvement.

He announced plans to strengthen solid capabilities through the reorganization of profit, cost, and asset structures, and to improve operational systems such as organizational culture and management systems that can sustain change, aligning them with the vision of a global AI company.

President Yu stated, "With the No. 1 DNA that led the world's top-level ICT innovation, I am confident that we will overcome crises and lead SKT to become a global top-level AI company."
