Gangnam-gu Holds New Year's Sunrise Event at Samsung Haemaji Park in the Year of Gapjin

Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jo Seong-myeong) held the ‘Gapjin Year Sunrise Event’ at 7:30 AM on January 1st at Samsung Sunrise Park to wish for the health and happiness of all residents.

Starting with the powerful sound of drums at 7:30 AM, attendees welcomed the hopeful first day of the Gapjin year while watching the rising sun. During the event, wish papers containing the participants' New Year's hopes were attached to drones and flown high into the sky. The event also featured New Year's greetings from distinguished guests and a performance by a children's choir wishing for a hopeful new year. From 8:30 AM, attendees shared rice cake soup at Cheongdam-garo Park, enjoying a warm New Year's morning.

Jo Seong-myeong, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, stated, “I hope everyone makes a hopeful resolution for the year at Samsung Sunrise Park, which has become a popular sunrise spot. As we welcome the Year of the Blue Dragon, I wish for all residents to achieve their aspirations, and like a dragon soaring, we will vigorously advance for Gangnam’s leap forward.”
