Nowon District Mayor Oh Seung-rok Attends Opening Ceremony of '2024 Nowon Snow Sledding Park'

Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District Office in Seoul, attended the opening ceremony of the '2024 Nowon Snow Sledding Park' held at the comprehensive stadium within Seoul National University of Science and Technology on January 1st, the first day of the new year.

The 'Nowon Snow Sledding Park' is a winter theme park in the city designed so that people of all ages can heal and enjoy themselves near their homes without having to travel far to the outskirts of Seoul.

Building on last year's popularity, this year the Nowon Snow Sledding Park enhanced safety by separating the slopes into ▲large and small sections, and added various experience facilities such as ▲an ice rink ▲a snow playground ▲smelt fishing ▲a game play zone ▲and a traditional experience center to increase the fun.

The snow sledding park operates from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for one month from the 1st to the 31st. However, it will be closed on the 4th, 5th, 17th, and 18th.

Residents of Nowon District, students and staff of Seoul National University of Science and Technology, and children under 36 months can enter free of charge, while residents from other areas are charged an admission fee of 2,000 KRW. Proof of residency such as a resident registration card must be presented upon entry for verification.

The opening ceremony was held with the attendance of Mayor Oh Seung-rok, members of the National Assembly, Kim Jun-seong, Chairman of the Nowon District Council, city council members, and other officials. The event proceeded with guest introductions, greetings, commemorative photos, a figure skating congratulatory performance, and a facility tour.

Mayor Oh Seung-rok of Nowon District said, “We established the snow sledding park at the Seoul National University of Science and Technology stadium so that people can enjoy outdoor winter activities and heal near their homes. I would like to thank the officials of Seoul National University of Science and Technology for cooperating with the venue, and above all, we will ensure perfect safety.”
