Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam, welcomed the New Year of Gapjin (甲辰) on the 1st by starting with visits to the National March 15 Democratic Cemetery (located in Masanhwoin-gu) and the Changwon Memorial Tower (located in Seongsan-gu).
On the 1st, Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, paid respects at the National 3·15 Democracy Cemetery and the Changwon Chung Hontap.
Mayor Hong, along with senior officials, visited the National March 15 Democratic Cemetery to lay flowers and incense, reflecting on the noble spirit of the martyrs of the March 15 Movement and offering comfort to the bereaved families visiting the cemetery.
He then visited the Changwon Memorial Tower to honor the patriotic martyrs and war heroes who sacrificed their lives for the protection of the country, praying for the peace of Changwon Special City and its citizens.
This New Year’s visit holds significant meaning as Changwon Special City commits to making 2024 a year of accelerated innovation and growth toward becoming a central city in Northeast Asia, achieving tangible change and prosperity for its citizens.
Meanwhile, Changwon Special City plans to vigorously advance its administration in 2024, starting with the opening ceremony on the 2nd.
