Year-End Warmth Sharing Parade in Dosan-dong, Gwangju
Warm-hearted sharing continues in Dosan-dong, Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City as the year-end approaches.
According to the district office on the 1st, Na Sam-o (88), a grandmother living in Dosan-dong, recently donated 320,000 won, which she saved little by little by collecting waste paper, to the Together Gwangsan Sharing Culture Foundation.
Grandmother Na, who has been steadily engaged in sharing activities since the end of last year, expressed her wish for the money to be used well, thinking of neighbors in need during the cold winter.
Anonymous donations also followed. A resident who wished to remain unnamed said, "I wanted to do something meaningful before this year ends," and donated 50,000 won in coins and 30,000 won in bills that they had saved. Another resident anonymously left 20 bags of 20kg white rice, asking for it to be delivered to neighbors in need.
Kim Yeon-hwa, a resident of Dosan-dong, also donated 100,000 won to the Together Gwangsan Sharing Culture Foundation, saying, "I want to contribute even a small part to helping neighbors."
Songjeong Elementary School in Dosan-dong delivered 278 packets of ramen collected by students and parents. The ramen will be provided to vulnerable groups who have difficulty securing meals.
An official from Dosan-dong stated, "The hearts of those who think of their neighbors before themselves are spreading everywhere," and added, "We will also work hard to ensure that the warmth of sharing lasts long and supports neighbors in need."
