Oh District Mayor Takes Lead in Resident Safety by Establishing Response System from Day Before Heavy Snowfall (29th)
Dobong-gu (District Mayor Oh Eon-seok) attracted attention for its prompt and immediate response to prevent safety accidents among residents due to the heavy snow warning on the 30th, the start of the holiday.
On the 29th at 11 p.m., Mayor Oh Eon-seok of Dobong-gu issued Snow Removal Measure Level 1 in advance and ordered emergency duty and preparation for snow removal equipment deployment in the district office and all 14 neighborhoods.
Accordingly, the district kept 14 snow removal vehicles and 2 excavators on standby for immediate dispatch and completed the operation inspection of heating wires and liquid spraying devices installed on hill roads and other areas.
From the early morning of the 30th, when the heavy snow began, Dobong-gu started spreading snow removal agents centered on the snow removal task force and operated heating wires and liquid spraying devices. In addition, through local road patrols, snow removal work was carried out on sidewalks, and employees in all 14 neighborhoods quickly responded to residents' inconveniences by promptly removing snow from sidewalks and alleys.
As the heavy snow continued, Mayor Oh Eon-seok directly monitored the comprehensive snow removal status of each neighborhood via CCTV at the Disaster Safety Headquarters, received situation reports, and held an emergency countermeasure meeting.
Moreover, Mayor Oh Eon-seok personally participated in snow removal work with employees in the Dobong-dong and Banghak-dong areas to check if residents had any inconveniences.
He also visited a household near Dobongsan where a large amount of snow caused tree branches to break and the roof to collapse, together with the Dobong Fire Station, to assess the damage situation.
Following a recent media report on a snow sledding accident, Mayor Oh Eon-seok visited the snow sledding site operated on the Seongdae Baseball Stadium grounds, reiterated safety precautions, and thoroughly inspected the site with the responsible staff.
Mayor Oh Eon-seok of Dobong-gu said, “Safety is something that cannot be overemphasized, so we will prioritize the safety of our residents and take thorough care of safety throughout the region to prevent unexpected safety accidents.”
