Release of the movie 'Cross' starring Jeon Hye-jin, wife of the late Lee Seon-gyun, postponed

The release of the film starring Jeon Hye-jin, wife of the late Lee Seon-gyun, has been postponed.

On the 28th, distributor Plus M Entertainment announced that the release date of the film 'Cross,' originally scheduled to premiere in theaters in February next year, has been delayed.

Previously, on the 20th, the distributor had confirmed the release of 'Cross' during the Lunar New Year holiday in February next year but has since changed the schedule. Although the specific reason was not disclosed, it is speculated that the release timing was adjusted because Jeon Hye-jin, who lost her husband the day before, stars in the film.

'Cross' (directed by Lee Byung-hoon) is a comedy film depicting the story of Kang-moo (played by Hwang Jung-min), a former agent living as a veteran housewife while hiding his past from his wife, and Mi-seon (played by Yum Jung-ah), an ace detective from the violent crime investigation unit who misunderstands her husband's secret, as they become entangled in a huge incident together.

Actors Hwang Jung-min and Yum Jung-ah portray a married couple, and Jeon Hye-jin plays Hee-joo, an agent who seeks help from an old colleague to investigate a missing person case undercover.

Meanwhile, Lee Seon-gyun, who had been under investigation for drug use since October, was found dead in his private car parked in a park in Jongno-gu, Seoul, on the morning of the previous day. The chief mourners are his wife Jeon Hye-jin and his siblings. The funeral will be held on the 29th.

The release dates for Lee Seon-gyun’s posthumous works, 'Land of Happiness' (directed by Chu Chang-min) and 'Escape: Project Silence' (directed by Kim Tae-gon), are also undecided. Distributors NEW and CJ ENM stated, "There is no set date for the release."
