Yangcheon-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Lee Gi-jae) announced that the area around 102-33, Sinwol 1-dong has been finally designated and announced on the 28th as a small-scale housing maintenance management area with legal effect as a Moa Town.
The area around 102-33, Sinwol 1-dong is an aging, low-rise residential area with a high proportion of elderly population and was selected as a target site for Seoul City's Moa Town contest in June last year. The district has been promoting the 'Moa Town Management Plan Establishment Service' since January this year to establish basic directions and secure necessary infrastructure for the area, aiming for approval and announcement within the year. After the revised approval by the Seoul City Small-scale Housing Maintenance Integrated Review on the 12th, it was finally designated and announced as a 'management area' on the 28th, enabling full-scale promotion such as the establishment of associations.
This Moa Town management plan includes ▲upgrading the zoning area (from Type 2 to Type 3 general residential area) ▲expansion of maintenance infrastructure such as parking lots, parks, and social welfare facilities ▲road width improvements (widening roads such as Nambusunhwan-ro 57-gil, Woljeong-ro 31 and 33-gil, Gomdallae-ro 11-gil from 6~8m to 8~10m) to improve the aging residential environment and traffic and pedestrian conditions.
In addition, the existing 1,000㎡ Shindae Children's Park will be redeveloped into a 3,000㎡ park with an underground public parking lot, which is expected to greatly contribute not only to the Moa Town area but also to alleviating the chronic parking shortage and expanding resting spaces for nearby low-rise residential areas and surrounding market visitors.
Lee Gi-jae, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, “With this designation and announcement of the management area, the Sinwol 1-dong Moa Town project, the first Moa Town in Yangcheon-gu, has been put on the right track,” and added, “The district will spare no administrative support to ensure that the Moa Town project, which expands quality housing supply and social overhead capital facilities, proceeds smoothly.”
