Gyeonggi Province has resolved 1,884 cases (4.7 trillion KRW) through the 'Local Land Expropriation Committee' over the past three years.
The Local Land Expropriation Committee, operated under the "Act on Acquisition and Compensation of Land for Public Projects," proceeds upon the application of the project implementer when resolution is unavoidable after consultation.
The resolution performance over the past three years is ▲ 619 cases (8,350 people) in 2021 ▲ 625 cases (8,831 people) in 2022 ▲ 640 cases (11,008 people) in 2023.
The increase in resolutions is due to a rise in applications between project implementers and owners caused by insufficient consultation on large-scale projects.
Ryu Ho-guk, Director of the Regional Policy Division of Gyeonggi Province, promised, "Next year, we will do our best to protect the rights and interests of residents through simplified resolution applications, prompt review, strengthened appraisal report review, and systematic resolutions using the Resolution Information System (LTIS)."
He added, "In cases where expropriation resolution is unavoidable, we plan to operate the Land Expropriation Committee swiftly and accurately to satisfy both owners and project implementers."
