‘3 Years Overcome Together with Residents’ ... Geumcheon-gu COVID-19 White Paper Published

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced the publication of the "Geumcheon-gu COVID-19 Response White Paper," which records the three-year process of overcoming the COVID-19 outbreak from its early stages.

The district published the white paper to prepare for better responses to future disasters, such as new infectious diseases that may arise again.

The white paper contains a record of the three years and six months during which Geumcheon-gu, together with its residents, responded to COVID-19 from January 2020, when the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters was established, until June 2023, when the quarantine mandate was lifted.

The white paper comprehensively summarizes Geumcheon-gu's efforts in responding to COVID-19, including ▲ an overview of the COVID-19 outbreak ▲ medical measures ▲ quarantine measures ▲ various support initiatives. In particular, it realistically documents the frontline situations of medical staff and quarantine officials who sacrificed themselves in quarantine measures, vaccinations, and screening clinics.

Additionally, it was designed to be easily understood by anyone by utilizing various visual materials such as statistics, charts, and photos, including sections like "COVID-19 by the Numbers" and "Flowchart of Confirmed Case Response." It also includes firsthand accounts from employees who dedicated themselves on the COVID-19 frontline, capturing vivid stories from the field.

A total of 200 copies of the COVID-19 white paper will be distributed to public institutions such as each department of the district office, community service centers, and libraries. Furthermore, any resident can view it online on the Geumcheon-gu Office website under "Our Geumcheon, e-Gotgan."

In his foreword, Geumcheon-gu Mayor Yu Seong-hoon expressed, "I am grateful to the residents who quietly stood their ground and added hope during the seemingly endless three years of COVID-19," and added, "This white paper will serve as a manual for future disaster situations that may arise again, and we will wisely overcome any crisis to advance the safety and happiness of our residents."

For more details, inquiries can be made to the Resident Safety Division of Geumcheon-gu Office.
