Sudden Absence Without Stating a Reason
A woman in her 20s who extorted tens of millions of won by threatening the late Lee Seon-gyun was caught by the police after fleeing without attending the pre-trial detention hearing (warrant review).
According to the legal community on the 27th, the Metropolitan Investigation Unit of the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency arrested a 28-year-old woman, A, on charges including extortion.
Earlier, A, who had a pre-arrest warrant requested, suddenly failed to appear at the warrant review held at the Incheon District Court the previous afternoon without providing any particular reason.
When A did not show up at the court, the police began to locate her and executed the arrest warrant issued along with the pre-arrest warrant request. However, the location where A was arrested has not been disclosed.
A is accused of extorting 50 million won by threatening actor Lee, who was suspected of drug use. A was taken into custody at the Incheon Nonhyeon Police Station detention center, and her warrant review is scheduled to be held on the 28th at 2:30 PM, presided over by Judge Lee Gyu-hoon, who is in charge of warrants at the Incheon District Court.
Lee stated, "I was threatened in connection with this case and extorted of 350 million won," and filed a complaint against A and B (29), a manager of a nightlife establishment, on charges of extortion. It is known that Lee hurriedly raised cash through an acquaintance and gave 300 million won to B and 50 million won to A, respectively.
However, B claimed, "I was also threatened via social networking services (SNS) by a person who suspected the relationship between me and Lee," adding, "I do not know who that person is."
Lee expressed his grievance over the drug charge investigation based on B's statement, and was found dead in a vehicle parked near Waryong Park in Jongno-gu, Seoul, around 10:30 AM that day.
