On this day, Shin Hye-kyung, a staff member of the Market Revitalization Team at the Busan Small Business Support Division, and Kim Tae-woo, a staff member of the Busan Children's Comprehensive Center, attended and presented a certificate of commendation to the Dr. Seujaerange team (Department of Sports Rehabilitation, supervised by Professor Ji Chang-jin) for their contribution to traditional markets, and a letter of appreciation to Professor Kim Jae-ik.
Jung Ji-eon, head of the Career Action Center at Dongmyung University, said, “We give great applause for the passion shown in activities extending beyond Busan to the Gyeongnam region,” adding, “We hope that the global service learning program with Hue University of Technology in Vietnam, scheduled for January next year, will continue to succeed through diverse experiences and reflections.”
Dongmyung University plans to continue its activities next year as it achieved good results in service learning conducted with the Busan Children's Comprehensive Center.
They are also scheduled to attend the joint service learning performance sharing meeting of four universities on January 24 next year and present their excellent cases.
Service learning, which combines the concepts of service and learning, has been a university innovation support project carried out by Dongmyung University since 2020.
Following the MOU signed with Busan's traditional markets in August 2021, it was recognized as a liberal arts credit in 2022. It has become increasingly popular, to the extent that students voluntarily recommend it to their juniors.
Since 2020, over seven semesters, more than 100 service learners from 12 departments have developed their expertise by volunteering in connection with their majors at various institutions.
