"We support your entrance into elementary and middle school. We wish you to soar higher toward your goals."
Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, will provide new school bags to Dream Start children in the district who are entering elementary and middle school in the new year of Gapjin.
On the 27th, Nam-gu stated, "We will provide hopeful school bags to new students entering elementary and middle school next year among children from basic livelihood security recipients, near-poverty class, and single-parent families in the district," adding, "We hope our children starting a new semester and a new beginning will nurture their dreams through school life."
The children receiving the school bags include 8 new elementary school students and 29 new middle school students next year, and each student will be provided with a new bag worth approximately 150,000 KRW.
The reason for supporting new bags at the start of the new semester is to reduce the burden of purchasing essential supplies for advancing to higher schools and to motivate school life.
The school bags will be delivered to the Dream Start centers that the children use, and the eligible students can visit the Dream Start center in person to receive their new bags.
A Nam-gu official said, "We prepared this new semester gift so that our children can continue their school life with joy and put their dreams and goals into their school bags to focus on their studies," adding, "We support them to start energetically with the hopeful school bags."
