The Gwangju Dongbu Police Station, together with the Dong-gu Volunteer Crime Prevention Unit and Dong-gu Office staff, conducted a joint night patrol involving civilians, local government, and police on the 26th to prevent crimes during the year-end and New Year period. This joint patrol focused mainly on entertainment-dense areas such as Chungjang-ro and Geumnam-ro, where the floating population increases during the year-end and New Year season.
Meanwhile, Cho Young-il, chief of the Dongbu Police Station, stated, "We will do our best to maintain a safe Dong-gu by sustaining continuous cooperation with the Volunteer Crime Prevention Unit and local government."
