Gyeonggi-do's Top 10 Hot Issues of the Year: No.1 is the 'Money-Making Governor' Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon is presiding over the final open government meeting of the year on the 27th.

On the 27th, Gyeonggi Province revealed the 'Top 10 Hot Issues of Major Policies in Gyeonggi in 2023' at the open provincial government meeting held at the provincial office.


The first place was awarded to 'A Governor Who Makes Money, Expanding the Global Economic Territory' (achieving 50 trillion KRW out of the 100 trillion KRW+ investment attraction goal).


Since the launch of the 8th elected administration, Gyeonggi Province has achieved investment attraction results including 14.9 trillion KRW from global companies such as a U.S. industrial gas company, 11.6 trillion KRW in the creation of industrial complexes and technovalleys including Pangyo 2nd Technovalley, 23 trillion KRW in the semiconductor and mobility sectors including the Samsung Electronics Pyeongtaek Campus FAB (semiconductor factory), and 600 billion KRW in venture startups and national R&D sectors such as the establishment of the G-Fund.


Following that, the 2nd to 5th places were ▲Global Diplomacy Preparing for the Future (Innovation Alliance) ▲Youth Policies Turning Vague Dreams into Reality (Youth Ladder, Gap Year, Startup Ladder Finance) ▲Zero Care Gap Welfare Model (360-degree Care).


Also ranked were ▲Well-connected Gyeonggi Province, the Era of Transportation in Front of Our Homes (Smart Bus, THE Gyeonggi Pass) ▲Recognition of Hidden Public Value (Opportunity Income) ▲Peace Stories Blooming in the DMZ on the 70th Anniversary of the Armistice (DMZ Open Festival) ▲Catching the Gray Rhino of Low Birthrate and Aging Population (Solutions to the Population Cliff) ▲Promotion of the Special Self-Governing Province of Northern Gyeonggi, a Game Changer Changing the Future of Korea.


Governor Kim stated at the meeting, "I consider the past one and a half years of the 8th elected administration as 'Season 1,' and the remaining one and a half years as 'Season 2.' From now on, I will proceed on the path of Season 2 unwaveringly and very boldly."
