Expansion Focused on Large Machines... 2 More to Be Added Next Year
Over 100,000 passengers have used T'way Air's Incheon-Sydney route during its first year of operation. The airline plans to diversify the route further by increasing the number of large aircraft.
T'way Air announced that its flagship long-haul route, Incheon-Sydney, has served approximately 105,000 passengers since its launch on December 23 last year. The route has established itself as a key long-haul service, maintaining an average load factor of 88%.
To celebrate the first anniversary of the Incheon-Sydney route, T'way Air is holding a commemorative event until the 29th. Customers who leave congratulatory messages in the event page comments will be entered into a draw to win T'way gift certificates, with a total of 10 winners. Additionally, the first 100 customers each day will receive a 50,000 KRW discount coupon for the Sydney route. More details can be found on T'way Air’s website and mobile application (app).
Meanwhile, T'way Air plans to diversify its routes focusing on large aircraft. Between March and May last year, the airline sequentially introduced three A330-300 aircraft, actively deploying them on new routes such as Incheon-Sydney, Mongolia, and Singapore. Since March last year, about 1.87 million passengers have been transported on routes operated by the A330-300. Utilizing the lower cargo hold of the A330 aircraft, the airline transported 6,675 tons of cargo last year and plans to transport 15,000 tons this year.
As of the end of this year, T'way Air operates a total of 30 aircraft, including three large A330-300s, and plans to add seven more aircraft next year, including two large aircraft. The airline is also preparing to launch a new European route, Incheon-Croatia, along with other new medium- and long-haul routes within the year.
A T'way Air representative stated, "Next year, we will prioritize safe operations and actively engage in recruitment and investment to ensure thorough preparation. We will continue sustainable growth through efficient fleet management and route strategies."
