Factory Reset of Mobile Phone Ahead of Police Investigation
A physical education teacher who had sexual relations multiple times with a high school student was caught by the police and is now facing detention.
On the 26th, the Suseo Police Station in Seoul announced that they had requested an arrest warrant for Mr. A, a physical education teacher in his 20s who had sexual relations with a female high school student, on charges of violating the Child Welfare Act and the Child Abuse Punishment Act. Since the victim was over 16 years old, the charge of statutory rape of a minor was not applied.

Mr. A worked as a contract teacher at a high school in Seoul and is accused of having sexual relations multiple times with the victim student and demanding nude photos. During the police investigation, Mr. A reportedly claimed that the sexual relations were consensual. It is also known that he reset his mobile phone before the police investigation.
This crime by Mr. A was revealed after the victim’s parents reported it to the police.
The police believe that Mr. A used his position as a physical education teacher to continue private conversations with the victim student, effectively psychologically dominating her before committing the crime.
The police have taken Mr. A into custody and plan to continue further investigations into the specific methods of the crime.
