Three Outstanding Projects Finally Selected for Goal Achievement Review
Notable for Technology Transfer Over 90 Million KRW and 14 Patent Applications
The Industry-Academic Cooperation Leading University Development Project Group (LINC3.0) at Dong-A University held the ‘2023 Industry-Academic Joint Technology Development Project Final Presentation Evaluation Meeting.’
The event, held on the 22nd at Shilla Stay West Busan in Gangseo-gu, Busan, was organized with the goal of triggering technological innovation for the mutual growth of universities and local industries through joint technology development and technology commercialization.
The event was conducted as an in-person evaluation with 14 participants involved in the industry-academic joint technology development projects and 7 project evaluators composed of experts in specialized fields.

The project group reviewed a total of 14 projects, including 7 innovation product types, 3 problem-solving types, and 4 technology transfer types, and finally selected 3 outstanding projects. The evaluation criteria included △achievement of goals △appropriateness of technology development execution △technical excellence △degree of commercialization.
The final selected projects were △Development and commercialization of small-scale construction safety management technology utilizing reinforcement learning-based CCTV space allocation optimization technology (Professor Lee Jae-gang, Department of Construction Systems Engineering) △Development of a high-density electrostatic removal device using two or more ultra-small X-ray tubes applicable to semiconductor manufacturing processes (Professor Kim Sang-hyo, Department of Electrical Engineering) △Development of a vertical takeoff and landing unmanned aerial vehicle with high efficiency/high speed flight and adjustable main wing length (Professor Kim Jae-il, Department of Materials Science and Engineering).
The Dong-A University LINC3.0 project group also attracted attention by presenting the outcomes of the industry-academic joint technology development projects at this event.
The project group announced business achievements this year, including technology transfers exceeding 90 million KRW and 14 patent applications.
Director Choi Jeong-ho said, “We have achieved the cultivation of talent tailored to regional community needs by driving the creation of new industries and strengthening the research and employment/entrepreneurship capabilities of participating students. We will continue to put more effort into supporting industry-academic joint technology development projects so that universities and local communities can grow together.”
The Dong-A University LINC3.0 project group is striving to discover high-quality industry-academic joint technology development projects that lead theoretical research in university specialization fields to the technology commercialization stage or generate ideas related to community innovation.
