'Perfectionist Pianist' Zimmerman to Begin Nationwide Tour from the 27th

Christian Zimmermann, known as a perfectionist pianist, is returning to Korea for a nationwide tour for the second consecutive year.

Zimmermann will start his performances at the Busan Cultural Center Grand Theater on the 27th, followed by the Daejeon Arts Center Art Hall on the 29th, Seoul Lotte Concert Hall on the 3rd and 5th of next month, Daegu Dalseo Art Center Cheongryong Hall on the 7th, and will conclude the tour with another performance at the Lotte Concert Hall on the 10th. Originally, two performances were planned at the Lotte Concert Hall, but due to continuous sellouts, an additional show on the 10th was added.

Zimmermann plans to fill the first half of the concert with works by Fr?d?ric Chopin, performing Nocturnes Nos. 2, 5, 16, and 18, as well as Piano Sonata No. 2. In the second half, he will perform Claude Debussy's "Estampes" and Karol Szymanowski's "Variations on a Polish Folk Theme." Zimmermann won this year's Gramophone Award in the piano category with his latest album "Karol Szymanowski: Piano Works."

Born in Poland, Zimmermann gained worldwide fame by winning the 9th International Chopin Piano Competition in 1975 at the age of 18. He is well known as a performer who pursues the utmost delicacy in his performances and never compromises on any aspect to achieve the perfection of the piece.

In particular, he is famous for transporting his own piano when touring overseas to ensure the perfection of the music. During his concert in Korea last year, he brought his own action and keyboard, and for this tour, he will bring one piano along with additional action and keyboard to deliver the most ideal sound he strives for.
