Eunpyeong-gu Awarded 'Commendation for Excellence in Food and Drug Safety Management'

Contributing to the Improvement of Meal Safety at Childcare Centers and Kindergartens without Nutritionists... Promoting Food Poisoning Prevention Education and Awareness Classes for Children

Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that it has received the 'Commendation for Excellence in Food and Drug Safety Management.'

The Eunpyeong-gu Child Meal Management Support Center, operated by the district, received a commendation at the '2023 Food and Drug Safety Management Excellence Award Ceremony' hosted by the Seoul Regional Food and Drug Administration on the 12th.

Since its opening in 2011, the Eunpyeong-gu Child Meal Management Support Center has been providing systematic and thorough hygiene, safety, and nutrition management support to child meal facilities without nutritionists, such as daycare centers, kindergartens, and local children's centers with fewer than 100 people.

The center was recognized at this award ceremony for its contribution to establishing proper hygiene practice habits among children and received a commendation.

The center was highly evaluated for promoting the 'Visiting Food Poisoning Prevention Education and Publicity Class' this year in collaboration with the Seoul Regional Food and Drug Administration. They visited child meal facilities directly to educate children on necessary knowledge for preventing food poisoning, such as handwashing, food ingredient storage, and hygiene management during cooking and meals.

Director Hong Wan-su of the center said, “I sincerely thank you for this commendation. We will continue to work diligently with a sense of mission to realize the goal of improving children's health.”
