Dobong-gu (District Mayor Oh Eon-seok) is responding to a fire and additional measures after a fire broke out at an apartment in Banghak-dong on the morning of the 25th.
According to the fire authorities, a report was received at 4:57 a.m. that a fire had broken out on the 3rd floor of an apartment in Banghak-dong, Dobong-gu, Seoul, and they responded to the scene.
The fire department, which immediately dispatched personnel and equipment, controlled most of the flames by around 6:37 a.m., and completely extinguished the fire at about 8:40 a.m., approximately 3 hours and 43 minutes after the report was received. The fire department's Level 1 response was lifted after 8:54 a.m.
Dobong-gu is making every effort to provide relief measures for the victims of this fire. An integrated support headquarters composed of a situation control team and a welfare countermeasure team has been established to prepare and implement countermeasures.
First, a temporary shelter was set up at a senior citizens' center to accommodate the victims, and emergency food supplies including 70 lunch boxes, 350 bottles of water, 30 boxes of Red Cross relief supplies, and 70 basic daily necessities were provided as a priority.
Currently, three lodging facilities in the area have been designated as temporary residences, and victims who applied for admission are being accommodated and protected.
Additionally, a separate medical desk has been set up at the site, providing emergency medical support through staff from the district health center, and efforts are being made to manage victims, including casualty management, through the operation of an on-site civil complaint reception desk.
The victims of this fire are currently being transferred to hospitals for treatment. Oh Eon-seok, the mayor of Dobong-gu who responded to the scene, said, "I extend my condolences to the residents affected by this unfortunate fire. We will deploy the maximum available resources on site to prevent any further damage."
