Seocho-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) opened the Winter Snow Playground at Yangjaecheon Swimming Pool (around 126-1 Yangjae-dong) on the 23rd to operate until February next year in celebration of the winter vacation. Visitors can enjoy activities such as sledding, smelt fishing, and snowball games at the Snow Playground.
The Snow Playground covers a total area of 6,400㎡ and can accommodate up to 1,100 visitors. The swimming pool features a large sledding hill, and a snowball (air ball) play area is set up in the 125m diameter lazy river pool.
The operating hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with 16 safety personnel deployed to ensure safe and comfortable use. The fee is 1,000 KRW for Seocho-gu residents, and additional costs apply for equipment rental and other programs.
A large tank for smelt fishing experience is provided, allowing visitors to catch smelt directly with a dip net. Visitors can also enjoy unique experiences such as an ice slide and snowball (air ball) activities.
Jeon Seong-su, Mayor of Seocho-gu, said, “Yangjaecheon Swimming Pool will transform into a snow playground in winter, becoming a representative urban healing place where the whole family can create happy winter memories.”
