[Tomorrow's Weather] 'White Christmas' Expected... Cold Eases Slightly [Image source=Yonhap News]

On Christmas Day, the 25th, it will be a "White Christmas." Snow will fall across various parts of the country. However, the daytime high temperatures will remain above freezing, and the severe cold is expected to ease somewhat.

Inland areas of southern Gyeonggi and northern Chungcheong will experience snow continuing until the afternoon in some places. Except for Gangdong and Yeongdong, the central regions, western inland Gyeongbuk, inland Jeonbuk, and Jeju Island will see occasional snow that mostly stops by the morning. Between dawn and morning, less than 0.1 cm of snow may fall in the northwestern inland of Gyeongnam.

In particular, on the morning of the 25th, some areas centered around Seoul, Incheon, Gyeonggi Province, and northern Chungcheong will experience somewhat heavy snowfall. In regions where snow falls, visibility will rapidly decrease, and accumulated snow will freeze, creating many icy roads. Drivers should be cautious of icy roads and pedestrian safety. Special attention should also be paid to facility management.

The expected snowfall over the two days until the 25th is 2 to 7 cm in Seoul, Incheon, southern Gyeonggi, northern Chungnam, and central-northern Chungbuk. Some southern Gyeonggi areas may see snowfall exceeding 10 cm. Northern Gyeonggi, the five western islands, Daejeon, Sejong, southern Chungnam, southern Chungbuk, Ulleungdo, and Dokdo are forecasted to receive 1 to 5 cm; Yeongseo in Gangwon, inland Jeonbuk, and western inland Gyeongbuk 1 to 3 cm; and mountainous and mid-northern areas of Jeju Island 3 to 8 cm of snow.

The morning low temperatures are forecasted to be between -7 and 0 degrees Celsius, and the daytime highs between 1 and 7 degrees Celsius.
