A middle school teacher accused of sexually assaulting and abusing students over four years has been brought to trial.
The Women and Children Crime Investigation Division of the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Jeong Hyeon-seung) announced on the 22nd that a male teacher in his 30s, identified as Mr. A, was arrested and indicted on charges including acts similar to sexual conduct under the Youth Protection Act.
According to the prosecution, Mr. A worked as a contract teacher at a middle school in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, and is accused of forcing 11 students to engage in acts similar to sexual conduct and sexually abusing them from November 2019 until last October.
The victims were all male students aged 14 to 15 at the time of the incidents, according to the investigation.
The Seoul Western Police Station received reports from the school, which became aware of Mr. A's crimes at the end of October, along with complaints from the victims, and launched an investigation, forwarding the case to the prosecution on the 5th.
