A former idol group member has been brought to trial on charges of secretly filming sexual intercourse scenes and specific body parts of a woman he was dating while covering her eyes.
The Women and Children Crime Investigation Division of the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Jeong Hyun-seung) announced on the 22nd that Choi Mo (27), a former idol group member, was recently indicted without detention on charges of filming and distributing images using a camera under the Sexual Violence Punishment Act.
Choi is accused of photographing and recording videos of sexual intercourse scenes and key body parts with the victim, A, a total of 18 times from July last year to May this year. It was investigated that Choi committed the crimes by having A wear a blindfold and using a silent camera application.
A discovered the illegal recordings held by Choi in May and filed a complaint with the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul that same month. During the police investigation, it was revealed that Choi had also illegally filmed other women besides A. However, there was no confirmation of charges related to distributing the recordings externally.
Meanwhile, the boy group to which Choi belonged is currently inactive due to member departures and other reasons. Previously, another member of the group, Lee Mo (25), was sentenced in the first trial in January 2018 to 1 year and 6 months in prison with a 3-year probation for forcibly molesting a minor (violation of the Youth Protection Act).
