Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (President Hwang Ju-ho) succeeded in the first grid connection of Shin Hanul Unit 2 (1.4 million kW class) on the 21st.

Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Shin Hanul Unit 2 Achieves First Grid Connection Success On the 21st, KHNP successfully completed the first grid connection of Shin Hanul Unit 2 and held a commemorative ceremony.

Grid connection refers to sending electricity generated at a nuclear power plant through transmission lines to general households and industrial sites.

This grid connection is the result of completing the initial fuel loading on September 19 and perfectly conducting various commissioning tests, including high-temperature functional tests.

Shin Hanul Unit 2, with a capacity of 1.4 million kW, is expected to produce an average of about 700,000 kW/h per hour during the commissioning period, which corresponds to 27.2% of the annual household electricity consumption in Gyeongbuk Province, contributing to power supply during the winter season.
