Sinan-gun and Muan-gun Youth Orchestra Deliver Moving Performance at the National Assembly

More than 120 People Perform a Special Joint Concert Together

Shinan Students Had to Come to the Mainland Three Days Early Due to Bad Weather Conditions

Shinan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Park Woo-ryang) announced on the 22nd that on the 21st, over 120 members of the Shinan-gun 1004 Youth Orchestra and the Muan-gun Dream Orchestra held a special joint concert at the National Assembly.

The event was hosted by the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, the National Assembly Secretariat, and National Assembly member Seo Sam-seok.

In particular, about 400 people from various fields gathered to enrich the event, including National Assembly Speaker Kim Jin-pyo, Seo Sam-seok, Chair of the National Assembly Budget and Accounts Special Committee, Park Woo-ryang, Governor of Shinan-gun, Kim San, Governor of Muan-gun, Kim Hyuk-seong, Chair of Shinan-gun Council, and Kim Kyung-hyun, Chair of Muan-gun Council.

The concert was divided into two parts: the first part featured the Shinan-gun 1004 Youth Orchestra, and the second part showcased the Muan-gun Dream Orchestra, each presenting 12 beautiful pieces reflecting the cultural characteristics and talents of their respective regions.

Through this joint concert, the youth from the two regions harmonized as one and moved many attendees with their performance.

Students from Bigeum, Dochodo, and Heuksan in Shinan-gun faced inconveniences due to the harsh island conditions, having to leave for the mainland three days in advance because of bad weather.

Governor Park Woo-ryang of Shinan-gun said, “It is truly a grateful occasion that the Shinan 1004 Youth Orchestra from the southwesternmost part of Korea can hold a joint concert at the National Assembly,” adding, “I hope this becomes an opportunity for our students to dream bigger and create precious memories.”
