Exploring Development and Joint Cooperation Strategies for Environmental Health Services
The Environmental Disease Prevention and Management Center (Daebong Healing Hall) within Daebongsan Recreation Valley in Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam, and the Gyeongsangnam-do Environmental Health Center at Gyeongsang National University signed a business agreement in the small conference room of the county office to revitalize the operation of Daebong Healing Hall and provide specialized environmental health services.
The agreement ceremony held on the 20th was attended by County Governor Jin Byeong-yeong, county officials, Seong Juhyeon, director of the Gyeongsangnam-do Environmental Health Center, as well as the director and researchers.
The Hamyang-gun Environmental Disease Prevention and Management Center operates educational programs to provide correct understanding and information about environmental diseases to residents, experiential events that children can enjoy, and family health camps that families can participate in together.

This agreement includes mutual cooperation and information sharing on △development and implementation of environmental health services for Gyeongnam residents △exploration of joint cooperation plans △health lectures for Gyeongnam residents in need referred by the Hamyang-gun Environmental Disease Prevention and Management Center (Daebong Healing Hall) △promotion of welfare projects and environmental health projects of both institutions.
Governor Jin said, “Through today’s agreement with the Gyeongsangnam-do Environmental Health Center at Gyeongsang National University, it feels like we have gained a strong ally,” adding, “With more specialized and public-oriented high-quality program operations, we expect many organizations and schools to participate and enhance the brand status of Hamyang-gun.”
Director Seong of the Environmental Health Center stated, “Today, health threats are increasing due to environmental issues including the climate crisis,” and added, “Considering the impact of environment and health on our lives and future, the business agreement with the Hamyang-gun Environmental Disease Prevention and Management Center will serve as a stepping stone for establishing an environmental health safety net for Gyeongnam residents.”
Officials from the Recreation Valley said, “Next year, with active support from the Gyeongsangnam-do Environmental Health Center, we will upgrade various programs to attract more tourists and do our best to make Daebong Healing Hall a place visitors want to return to.”
