‘Saemaeul Undong Again, Together with the World’ Pohang City Saemaeul Leaders Conference Held

Encouraging Devotion and Service Leaders, Reflecting on the Year

Performance Report, Group and Individual Merit Awards Ceremony Held

The Pohang City Saemaul Association held the '2023 Pohang City Saemaul Leaders Conference' on the 21st at the Daejam Hall of Pohang City Hall, attended by over 500 Saemaul leaders.

Under the slogan "Saemaul Movement Again, Together with the World," this conference was held to encourage the dedication and service of leaders who have contributed to the development of the Saemaul Movement, to reflect once again on the Saemaul spirit and movement, and to pledge to practice it.

The event featured congratulatory performances, a report on this year’s Saemaul Movement achievements, and an awards ceremony. At the ceremony, awards were presented to nine outstanding organizations and commendations were given to over 60 Saemaul contributors.

In the outstanding organization awards, Guryongpo-eup was honored with the grand prize. Additionally, for significant contributions to the development of the Saemaul Movement over the past year, the Pohang City Saemaul Association awarded Chairman Lim Jae-hyun of Jungang-dong and Chairman Kim Mi-kyung of Uchang-dong.

Lee Sang-hae, Chairman of the Pohang City Saemaul Association, expressed, “I am grateful to the Saemaul leaders who have dedicated and served the community over the past year, and I am pleased to hold this event to celebrate the fruits of their efforts. We will strive to become a branch that can provide much support so that Pohang City Saemaul leaders can devote themselves to service with joy next year as well.”

Mayor Lee Kang-deok said, “I deeply thank the Saemaul leaders who have quietly and steadily carried out numerous projects. Through the awards at this conference, I look forward to more Saemaul Association activities next year to make the local community warmer, and the city will respond with unwavering efforts.”
