Daegu Jiseong Construction and Bucheon Construction Receive 'Proud Construction Person Award'

Daegu City will select two local construction companies that have made significant contributions to revitalizing the regional construction industry and hold the ‘2023 Proud Construction Person Award’ ceremony at 3 p.m. on the 22nd at the Sanggyeok Office of Daegu City.

The 2023 Proud Construction Person Award recipients were recommended by construction-related associations for outstanding construction companies. After a practical review of eligibility and deliberation by the Daegu City Regional Construction Industry Revitalization Committee, the comprehensive construction company Jiseong Construction and the specialized construction company Bucheon Construction were finally selected.

In particular, Jiseong Construction increased its performance more than fourfold in 2022 compared to 2021 despite the recent downturn in the construction market, and contributed to raising the status of the local construction industry with 67% of its performance over the past three years coming from projects outside the region.

Bucheon Construction successfully carried out earthwork and reinforced concrete work for urban planning road construction projects in Urok-ri (Bondong Village), Gachang-myeon, Dalseong-gun, Daegu City, and in front of the village hall in Mudeung 1-ri, Habin, Dalseong-gun. It was recognized for achieving 100% use of local manpower, equipment, and materials, contributing to regional economic revitalization through win-win cooperation, and thus received the award.

Now in its 6th year, the Proud Construction Person Award was established by Daegu City in 2017 to discover construction companies or construction professionals who contribute to revitalizing the regional construction industry, boost morale and pride, and promote a healthy construction industry to help stimulate the local economy.

The award recipients are entitled to preferential treatment and support as excellent business people under the ‘Ordinance on the Treatment and Support of Entrepreneurs and Business Activities in Daegu Metropolitan City,’ including preferential interest rates on Daegu City’s small and medium enterprise management stabilization funds, promotion of companies and entrepreneurs, and free use of city public parking lots.
