According to foreign media including AFP on the 20th (local time), Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced this in a statement, specifically naming Zim, Israel's largest shipping company.

He also explained that ships heading to Israel are not allowed to be loaded at Malaysian ports.

The Malaysian government had approved Zim ships to dock at its ports in 2002 but has now revoked this permission.

Prime Minister Anwar said, "This sanction is a response to Israel's actions that ignore international law through massacres and atrocities against Palestinians, disregarding basic humanitarian principles."

As an Islamic country, Malaysia has maintained close relations with Palestine in the past and has not established diplomatic ties with Israel.
